Poem Describing Heaven
On a glorious throne, One filled with splendor and love
is seen dignified in majesty and worshiped above.
Seven fiery lamps glow before Him brightly –
Seven Spirits of the Lord God Almighty.
Jasper and precious stones sparkle
with beauty on a peaceful sea,
and a full, radiant rainbow shines around His Majesty.
Nearby are, four glorious creatures, mighty and regal,
whose eyes observe in all directions, well able to see,
like a lion, a calf, a man, an eagle -
are their appearances, respectfully.
Each one has six wings and to the Almighty sings,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is our True and Gracious King!”
As the four living creatures give honor to the Lord,
twenty four elders cast their crowns before Him,
as they kneel before Him and adore,
saying, “You are worthy, oh Lord!
Glory be to Your name!”
Also in that place we will see
the Lamb of God seated beside His Majesty.
We will worship and praise Him,
For He is worthy and has overcome
Death and Hell. A total victory He has won!
He’s the Lamb with seven horns and seven eyes -
possessing perfect power and having perfect sight.
His vision is comprehensive and so is His might.
He who overcomes will inherit all things,
and I will be His God”, says the King of Kings.
He will be My son, and will have a part
in the city unsurpassed in beauty and art.
When we get to heaven, we will rejoice with such joy
and praise God and the Lamb with a loud voice,
saying, “Salvation to our God, Who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb, who redeemed us as His own.”
Then the angels and elders and four living creatures
will fall on their faces and worship God, saying,
“Amen! Blessing, glory and wisdom and power,
thanksgiving and honor and might
be to our God forever and ever!”
In God’s temple we will serve Him day and night
and the Lord Jesus Christ will be our Personal Guide
and Shepherd, Who feeds us and leads
us to living waters and supplies our needs.
God will wipe away from our eyes all tears
as He pours out His love and draws us near.
No more extreme cold or blistering heat.
No trying and failing or disappointing delays.
No more striving, followed by defeat.
No more fatigue. No more haste.
No more confusion; only God’s perfect solutions.
No hunger anymore and no more thirst.
No more striving and never attaining.
No unfulfilled desires. No fruitless search.
No more sickness. No more hopes waning.
No more rejection or hearts full of pain.
No more jealousy. No feelings of neglect,
but tremendous love and friendships gained,
and understanding, love and wisdom to direct.
The righteous enter the city with streets of gold,
a river of life, and wonders foretold
where faith, hope, and love reign supreme
and overflowing happiness is the constant state of being.
Our home is the heavenly Jerusalem
of love, joy, and peace,
among the multitudes of angels
and spirits of the righteous made free
and perfect through the blood of Jesus Christ,
established, strengthened, and settled
for a new, better, and wonderful life
with the God of all grace who has called us to partake
of His own eternal glory in Jesus, our Lord.
In this new city where God’s glory shines
stand delicious fruit trees planted in even lines,
bearing nutritious fruit - a variety of kinds.
There, the greatest fulfillment we will find.
Blessed are those who have access to the tree of life -
even those who have followed the Lord Jesus Christ.
They will enter the gates of an eternal city
where all is stunning beauty and wondrously pretty.
A place to learn, a place to grow,
A place where God’s ways we will know.
A place to serve, a place to love,
A place to belong and to worship God above.
No good thing missing and nothing broken.
No more lack. No more poverty.
No rude or hurtful words ever spoken.
All is provided there - for every need.
No more pressed crowds; no more lack of space.
No more items lost or things misplaced.
No more daily grind to suffer through.
Here, every work of service is fulfilling to do.
No dark, dreary days. No pollution in the air,
but stunning outdoor beauty beyond compare.
No more wild animals; only tame ones there.
No dread of mishap, no deception to entrap.
No more harm or danger to fear.
Only best friends and loved ones near.
No more exhaustion, while work is yet to do.
Limitations of the body will all be through.
No more harm or danger to fear.
No one but best friends and loved ones near.
No more old age. No more disease.
Only love, joy, security and His peace,
and youth and health and perfect ease.
No more spiritual dry times or religion dry and old,
but worship unto, and fellowship with,
the One we love most.
Thus shall it ever be:
an awesome adventure for eternity,
all because of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Who paid for us the highest price.
The Spirit and the Bride, say come!
And whosoever wills may come
and receive from Christ, this eternal life freely.
