#14: JESUS IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
(from Romans)
Sin and death are contagious - having spread throughout
the human race, beginning with Adam’s sin. (5:12-19)
It only took one man, Adam, to bring mankind
into bondage and death.
And it only took one man, Christ Jesus,
to bring those who receive Him, into life, liberty, and into reigning in life.
(5:12-17, 8:21, Galatians 3:13-14)
By partaking from a forbidden tree, Adam brought himself
and all mankind down.
By giving his life on a tree,
Christ raises up all who believe on him.
(5:12-17, Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 2:1-6)
God demonstrated His love for us,
because while we were still sinners,
He sent His only Son to die for our sins. (5:8)
The penalty for sinning against God is spiritual death,
but the free gift of God is righteousness and eternal life
for those who receive Jesus as Lord. (6:23, 10:9-13)
Christ died on the cross to put us right with God;
therefore by faith we are saved by His life. (5:10)
By faith in Christ one can receive God’s righteousness.
But no one obtains God’s righteousness
by doing the works of the law. (9:30-33)
We who belong to Christ will be delivered
from God’s wrath, for we have been justified
by our faith in the blood of Jesus. (5:9)
By trusting in Christ as Lord and Savior one is justified and
by the law of faith one is put in right standing with God. (3:21-27)
If Christ is in you,
your spirit is alive with His righteousness. (8:10)
All have sinned and fallen short of being crowned
with glory and honor, as Adam was before he sinned.
But anyone can be brought freely into the righteousness
and glory of God by faith in Jesus Christ.
(3:23-24, Hebrews 2:6-10)
Happy are those to whom God imputes His righteousness
because of their faith and trust in Christ.
(4:5-8, 24-25, Psalm 32:1-2)
Whoever sincerely confesses Jesus Christ as his personal Lord
and believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead
will be saved. (10:9-10)
