#25: THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD,
part two
Cast away the works of darkness
and put on the full armor of light,
even the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Romans 13:12-14)
As the belt of a soldier holding his armor in place,
the truth of Jesus which we put in our spirits
sets us free from all the power of the enemy.
(Ephesians 6:14, John 8:31-32)
The word of the Lord in the mouth of the righteous
is a spiritual sword which overcomes the enemy.
(Ephesians 6:17, Luke 4:1-13)
A wise Christian stays alert and on guard.
Any thoughts which disagree with God’s Word, he casts down!
(II Corinthians 10:4-5, I Peter 5:8-9)
Believer, use the weapons of our spiritual warfare,
for they are mighty to pull down the devil’s strongholds.
They are awesome through God to destroy the devil’s plans!
(II Corinthians 10:4-6)
Cover your life with the shield of faith,
rendering powerless every evil spirit who comes against you.
(Ephesians 6:16)
As a soldier guarding his head with a helmet,
wise Christians guard their minds
from evil thoughts and imaginations of the enemy.
(Ephesians 6:17)
The helmet of hope protects your thoughts;
therefore wear the attitude of hope which expects to see
God’s goodness and saving power in your life.
(Ephesians 6:17, I Thessalonians 5:8, Psalm 27:13)
Faith in the truth of God is your shield of protection
from all the attacks of the enemy.
(Ephesians 6:16, Psalm 91:4)
Beloved, those who are power-hungry
or possessions-hungry play into the devil’s hands.
So do those who are led by fleshly appetites.
But the wise and faithful resist the devil by quoting to him
Scriptures that dispel his evil suggestions.
(Luke 4:1-13, Ephesians 6:18)
