#28: OUR GOD GIVES US HOPE, part two
(from the writings of Paul)
The hope of God does not lead to disappointment,
for it is established on God’s sure promises.
(Romans 5:3-5, 15:4, 9:33, 10:11, I Peter 2:6, Psalm 119:49, 74, 147, 112:6-8)
Give God glory and praise when in tribulations.
As you respond patiently, you will develop endurance,
maturity of character, and new hope,
as the Holy Spirit pours the love of God into your heart.
(Romans 5:3-5)
The pathway of the one who lives and walks
by hope and faith will shine more and more as days go by.
(Romans 1:17, Proverbs 4:18, II Corinthians 3:18, 5:7)
One with faith and hope waits patiently
for that for which he has believed;
with hope he looks ahead and sees
God’s promises for his life coming to pass.
(Romans 8:23-25)
Those who disbelieve the gospel have no lasting hope.
But we Christians have the blessed hope of being resurrected
and living with Jesus forever.
(I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Ephesians 2:12, I Corinthians 15:51-57)
Through Christ we are redeemed from all bondage and
soon we will be delivered from this present evil world.
(Galatians 1:4, 3:13-14)
The believer’s natural body, though it perish in corruption,
will be raised a spiritual body in incorruption.
Though it perish in dishonor and in weakness,
it shall be raised in glory and power.
(I Corinthians 15:42-44)
Anchor your hope to God’s promises
and let your hope be encouraged by the Scriptures.
(Romans 15:4, Hebrews 6:18-19)
What wisdom and hope are given
to those whose inner vision is flooded with light!
(Ephesians 1:17-18)
Guard your thoughts by focusing on the hope
of new blessings coming in.
(I Thessalonians 5:8)
Long term grieving and the sorrow of the world work death.
Cast the burden of sorrow and grief upon the Lord,
Who bore your grief and sorrows,
and let Him give to you renewed hope.
(II Corinthians 7:10, Isaiah 53:3-5, Psalm 55:22, I Peter 5:7)
